First let me say that this is one of the original proofs which was struck in 1867. This can be told by the die characteristics of the coin. Although the mintage is officially listed at 25 pieces, it is believed that as many as 40-50 coins may exists, many which were struck in later years. This is a brilliant blast white coin with sharply contrasting black and white surfaces. It is impeccably struck and doesn't have a single flaw.
