This is one of the very rare dates in the half dime series. NGC has graded only 9 coins in this grade and a mere 5 higher. PCGS has graded a total of 5 coins in AU58 and higher conditions. This coin appears only occasionally in auctions with the last one in this grade at a Heritage auction in January, 2006. This is an original coin with medium/dark grayish brown toning with hues of other colors showing through. It is nicely struck with clean surfaces and some luster still shining through.
