From the Old Roswell Mill Collection. This is one of the key dates for the entire half cent series and a revered rarity for more than a century. The present example has been struck on a reasonably smooth and glossy brown planchet. Typically seen with dark and porous planchets, this coin offers a great escape from the norm with only the slightest patch of roughness in the right obverse field. No distracting contact marks whatsoever. In summation, a superb example of this tremendous early copper rarity.
