This is one of the scarcer coins struck by C. Bechtler in Rutherford, NC in the 1840's. The coin has no date and is the 21 Carat variety with the star on the obverse. There are probably less than 100 pieces of this coin known that are not damaged. This is a very pleasing coin having a deep orange color. The strike is good, and its surfaces are clean. A very good looking coin for the discrimating or advanced collector.
